Short answer: At five major German trade fairs in 2027, organisers charge €246–€480 per m² for stand space alone, depending on the fair and on how many sides of the stand are open. Mandatory extras add roughly €3–€21 per m² (AUMA contribution, waste or energy flat rates) plus a flat media, communication or marketing fee of €449–€1,399 per stand. Stand design, construction, transport, power and build-up crews are separate costs on top of the space rent.

1. Space rent per m², 2027
German organisers price stand space by the number of open sides: a row stand (1 side open) is cheapest, an island stand (4 sides open) the most expensive. AUMA, the German trade fair industry association, describes this principle in its exhibitor guide (“Erfolgreiche Messebeteiligung – Grundlagen”, pp. 29–30).

Notes from the organisers’ documents:
- ISH labels its tiers “1 to 4 sides open” rather than row/corner/end/island. Larger stands are cheaper per m²: €390 / €400 / €410 / €415 for 400 m² and above, and a flat €405 for 800 m² and above.
- ISM and Anuga charge one rate regardless of open sides. Anuga bills a second storey at 50% of the space rate.

Advance payments are not extra costs. BAU asks for a down payment for services of €30/m², and ProWein a technical prepayment of €30/m² for exhibitors who did not take part in the last event; both are credited against the services you actually order.

4. What is not published
- HANNOVER MESSE 2027 (5–8 April 2027): Deutsche Messe does not publish a general per-m² hall rate on its public exhibitor pages. Per-m² prices appear only in factsheets for special areas (for example the Defense Production Area, Application Park and Startup Area), which are not general stand rates.
- ProWein’s energy fee is listed as mandatory, but no amount is given on the stand cost calculator page or in the 2027 conditions of participation.
Frequently asked questions
How much does exhibition stand space cost per m² in Germany?
For 2027, the organisers of ISH, BAU, ProWein, ISM and Anuga publish space rates between €246 and €480 per m², before mandatory fees and stand construction. The exact rate depends on the fair, the stand size and the number of open sides.
Why are corner and island stands more expensive?
Most German organisers set the price per m² by the number of open sides, because a stand open on more sides is visible from more aisles. At BAU 2027, for example, a row stand costs €262/m² and an island stand €305/m².
What is the AUMA fee?
It is a contribution per m² that organisers of German trade fairs collect for AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. It is €0.60/m² at ISH, BAU, ProWein and Anuga 2027.
Does the space rent include the stand?
No. Space rent covers the bare floor area. Walls, flooring, graphics, lighting, furniture, power connections, transport and build-up are separate. Send your floor plan and we will return an itemised stand quote for your fair.
Are these prices including VAT?
No. ISH, BAU, ProWein and Anuga state their space prices as net, before VAT. ISM’s price page does not state it, so check with Koelnmesse.
