Venue rules that shape your stand design in South Korea

Custom stands fail approval most often on height, fire class of materials, rigging and electrics. These are the rules the venues publish:

COEX, Seoul (example: EV Trend Korea 2026 guide)

• Maximum height 5 m; up to 6 m for large booths along the walls; 4 m in swing spaces.
• All booth materials non-combustible or flame-retardant.
• Electrical work by an electrical contractor registered with COEX; space-only setup through contractors designated by COEX.

• Maximum overall height of independent stands 5 m.
• All construction and decoration materials flame retardant.
• Electrics installed by a contractor chosen from KINTEX's appointed contractors; construction contractor registered online with the show secretariat.

Shipping a stand from Istanbul to South Korea

ATA Carnet in Korea: Korea accepts ATA Carnets for exhibitions and fairs, professional equipment and commercial samples; the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the guarantor. Sources differ on the maximum stay (6 months vs. up to 2 years), so we confirm the re-export date with the carnet issuer for each shipment. Planning timeline for a custom stand in South Korea

1. 20–16 weeks before: book space, send us the floor plan and stand number; we propose a design and budget.
2. 16–12 weeks before: final design, structural details, material list with fire certificates; register the contractor with the organiser or venue as the show manual requires.
3. Drawing deadline (set by the venue/organiser – see the rules above): submit stand drawings; order electricity, rigging and other venue-reserved services through the appointed contractors.
4. 12–10 weeks before: production and pre-assembly in our Istanbul factory.
5. 10–4 weeks before: sea or air freight with the customs documents (sea freight to East Asia typically takes several weeks, so the shipping date is fixed first).
6. Build-up days: installation with the venue-appointed electrical partner, final check before opening.
7. After the show: dismantling and return shipment or local disposal of consumables.
